To mark the fifth “Sound of Europe” festival organised by the EUNIC clusters in Istanbul and Ankara, the Cultural Forum Istanbul and the Embassy in Ankara are presenting the Viennese band AZE. The group – Beyza Demirkalp (guitar) and Ezgi Atas (vocals), supported by Moritz Kolmbauer on drums – has been blending R&B, indie and pop with oriental melodies since 2020. Following performances at Popfest Wien, the Reeperbahn Festival and Eurosonic Noorderslag, AZE are now touring Turkey: on 18 July at Alan Kadıköy in Istanbul and on 19 July at Kuğulu Park in Ankara. Admission to both open-air concerts is free.
