In ‘Interwoven’, the Vorarlberg-based artists Sabine Morgenstern and Maribel Rico engage in a dialogue about women’s life stories, origins and cultural identity. The exhibition on the ground floor focuses on women who have left their countries of origin and carry their personal stories, traditions and memories with them.
The installation on the ground floor of the Künstlerhaus Bregenz, which features photographs and texts by the artist and photographer Sabine Morgenstern, offers an intimate insight into the lives of the protagonists and portrays their personalities through objects from their countries of origin with which they have a close connection. The visual artist Maribel Rico continues this dialogue using various techniques and materials, such as painting, embroidery, weaving and fashion, and presents women as the epicentre in her work. Thanks to the collaboration with Stephanie Wladika from Creative Schneiderei, a garment was created. Another piece was realised in collaboration with the dressmaker Edith Pichler. Both collaborative works enrich the exhibition with their high-quality craftsmanship.
