29.10.2026 – 01.11.2026
As part of its annual theme ‘SPACES’, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Cairo will be focusing on the topic of ‘Digital and Feminist Spaces’ in autumn 2026. In collaboration with the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF), the Austria-based DJ and curator Tonica Hunter will be a guest at the event. In a participatory soundscaping workshop, she will invite participants to explore their perception of public, digital and feminist spaces using methods of experimental listening. The focus will be on questions of sound, belonging, visibility and digital participation. Tonica Hunter will also be presenting a DJ set at D-CAF. The Cultural Forum’s accompanying symposium brings together voices from various artistic fields as well as from culture, urban development and digital technologies, creating a space for interdisciplinary exchange on the design and appropriation of public and digital spaces.
