Eva Helene Stern views individual human life as being in collective connection with the cosmos, planet Earth, flora, fauna and supernatural forces. She focuses on healing deep-seated psychological wounds: transgenerational traumas within the collective fabric, arising from experiences of violence that continue to be endured today by indigenous populations, women in patriarchal systems and victims of authoritarian regimes. This perspective is informed by decades of research into transgenerational trauma, as it is embedded both in her family history and in the collective fabric of society. Her parents lived through the Nazi era and the Franco dictatorship. Eva Helene Stern lived in Dachau until she was 18, where, as a result of her experiences of violence, she had a so-called out-of-body experience that left a profound mark on her.
