The basics of painting: Elisabeth Plank playing with amorphous elements.
In her works, the Austrian painter Elisabeth Plank deals with the fundamental elements of painting such as colour, form, structure and space and uses them directly to construct her paintings.
In her series “SHAPES” she uses simple amorphous basic Elements (shapes) as only design elements. These simple, constantly slightly changing forms are placed in relation to each other on a black background and fathomed through different arrangements and colour schemes.
The focus on an amorphous element in the artist’s mainly large-format pictures creates a special level of effect.
The exhibition in the museum pavilion in the Mirabell Garden shows the large-format works of the Upper Austrian painter until 9th of October.
