The Brazilian artist lives in Belo Horizonte. She has shown solo exhibitions at the Museu Mineiro, Belo Horizonte, the Centro Cultural São Paulo, the Ballroom Marfa, Texas, and the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, among others.
At Kunsthaus Bregenz, Pessoa also makes the site, local nature, and regional cultural history the subject of her exhibition. For her installations, she collects raw materials from the region: soil, plants, fruits, animal bones, and feathers, which she then fills into objects and containers. Existing works are expanded site-specifically.
