The Bechstein-Bruckner Competition Austria promotes young pianists studying in Austria and honours the country’s rich musical tradition. This year, for the fifth time, there will be an opportunity to experience up-and-coming young talents from Austrian music academies and conservatories at the Brucknerhaus. Compulsory pieces by Anton Bruckner and Ludwig van Beethoven are included in the two rounds of the competition in order to specifically determine how well they deal with the demands of the Austrian piano repertoire. The competition will be judged by an independent international jury of three renowned concert pianists and professors. The two rounds of the competition will take place in the Middle Hall of the Brucknerhaus Linz. The competitions are open to the public and admission is free. The prizewinner’s concert will finally take place on Thursday, 23 October 2025 in the Middle Hall of the Brucknerhaus Linz.
Participating pianists: Roman Fediurko, Dominik-Augustin Ilisz, Mykola Myroshnychenko, Rino Nakamura, Hannah Shin, Ji-Hye Shin
