In his current exhibition at the kunsthaus muerz, Heinz Pacher, who has been intensively involved in the visual arts for over 60 years, is showing works in various materials and from a wide range of creative periods. Sculptures made of wood and ceramics are on display alongside paintings and graphic art. Heinz Pacher’s works are created in a creative process involving constant exploration of colours, forms and structures. His paintings are mostly abstract, with no intention of telling stories in the traditional sense, but rather unleashing a lively creativity that manifests itself in the use of colours and forms in the individual motifs. This is painting as sensation, which on the one hand has a high degree of reduction, but on the other hand achieves opulence and richness due to its intense colourfulness.
