The exhibition by the Canadian-Trinidadian multimedia artist transforms the wooden pavilion into a non-denominational chapel. Coloured vinyl on the skylights refracts the light throughout the space. Some panes display solid blocks of colour, whilst others are overlaid with collaged motifs of dancers in motion and symbols from dance culture. Relief sculptures and an altarpiece lend the pavilion a sense of permanence. A sound installation by musician Greg Fox fills the space during the day, inviting reflection. On three evenings, the same space is transformed into a dance floor. Communities have always understood that the body in motion is a spiritual act.
