Katharina Acht’s works invite us to experience transitions as a time of change and reorientation. The artist captures situations in which something is changing, without a new state yet being tangible. In minimalist, often desolate landscapes, existing orders dissolve. In these works, the human figure does not appear as the active centre, but as a situated figure within an open space. Scale, orientation and temporality are deliberately thrown into question. The works invite the viewer to pause and look closely.
