The exhibition presents six selected works by winners of the 2026 Prix Ars Electronica and the European Commission’s 2026 S+T+ARTS Prize – predominantly works that have been awarded a Golden Nica or a Grand Prize. The works on display urgently challenge our understanding of ‘human existence’ – a concept we have long taken for granted. They shed new light on it from a wide range of perspectives: from bodily perception, through the logic of capitalist technologies and the new autonomous creativity of AI, to history, geopolitics and the climate crisis. Taken together, the award-winning works reveal that what we consider to be ‘human’ is not something fixed, but is constantly changing. In doing so, they give this year’s festival theme, NEGOTIATING HUMANITY, a striking expression. The exhibition can be explored individually or as part of daily guided tours led by experts.
