Austrian fashion and textile designer Sabrina Stadlober is presenting her work as part of the 4th edition of ‘Complementarios’ at the Central de Diseño in Matadero Madrid. Stadlober’s work is characterised by a conceptual, research-based approach that combines ethics and aesthetics. Her project “Soil to Soil” presents an organic couture collection that embodies sustainability. It is inspired by the qualities of fabrics such as alpaca wool, silk, linen and ramie. The life cycle of these fabrics begins and ends in the earth. Similarly, the design process begins with the origin of the fabrics and ends with their composting.
