Asta Gröting creates works that explore the relationships between people, animals and objects. In her sculptures, videos and performances, she finds ways to reveal what is invisible to the naked eye in the social and psychological realms. Her work focuses on the inner voice, the space between lovers, the digestive system, or the interior of bullet holes from the Second World War. In Asta Gröting’s video work *Things* (2018), gravity is suspended: in slow motion, organic and inorganic objects fly towards a deep blue summer sky. With each projectile, the sequence generates a greater sense of pull. Whilst one studies the grotesque deformation of the thrown objects, the anticipation of the next object’s appearance builds.
