In Chongqing, a metropolis of over a million people in western China, two Austrian artists – Margareta Uliarte and Joe Köstlinger – are featured at the 2026 Jiangjin International Painting Exhibition. Under the title ‘Art in Bloom: New Visions for a New Audience’, the exhibition presents works by a total of 46 international artists. At the Hongyi Jiuzhou International Culture and Art Centre, diverse perspectives on contemporary painting engage in a shared dialogue. The exhibition combines international viewpoints with local contexts and focuses on themes such as identity, society and cultural exchange. The Austrian contributions form part of this multifaceted panorama and underscore the presence of Austrian contemporary art on the international stage.
