This year, the Cultural Forum Pretoria is supporting the Fak’ugesi African Digital & Innovation Festival in Johannesburg – one of Africa’s leading platforms for digital creativity, technology and innovation. As part of this partnership, the Cultural Forum is featuring the Austrian artist and collaborator Dagmar Schürrer in the festival programme, thereby strengthening the dialogue between the Austrian and African creative and digital scenes. Under this year’s theme, ‘African Imaginaries’, the festival brings together cultural practitioners, designers, researchers and entrepreneurs to reflect collectively on the interplay between creativity and technology and on possible futures – ranging from artificial intelligence and memory to the cities of tomorrow. With Dagmar Schürrer’s participation, the Cultural Forum is providing impetus for international collaboration at the intersection of art, culture, technology and innovation – and opening up new perspectives on shared creative processes.
