On 17.07. an exhibition by Claudia Larcher entitled “Face 2 Face” opens in the Lisi Hämmerle Gallery. In this exhibition Claudia Larcher deals with a highly popular tool of digital communication: emojis. Emojis are used in SMS and chats to replace terms.
In her video work, Claudia Larcher has equipped people with carved emoji masks, thus making them anonymous and emotionally fixed. The scenery is located in exotic Sri Lanka, so the global dimension of this form of communication becomes obvious. Identity and representation in the digital age are topics of discussion here.
