A different kind of circus theater. Two plays can be seen in the Kristallwerk in one evening.
Dada Circus – Being confuses consciousness: The company from Vienna combines acrobatics, juggling, object manipulation, dance and their own style of “physical theater” – accompanied by Lady Dada’s violin and voice. They tell modern fairy tales; sometimes funny; sometimes touching, but always bizarre. In their surreal love epic “Being confuses consciousness” they contort themselves acrobatically and give birth to status symbols of the bourgeois nuclear family just to juggle with them. And if they haven’t died, they’re still killing themselves.
XPect – A contemporary circus piece: A bizarre creature transforms itself on stage: sometimes it is one, then it splits and reconnects – how many are there, who is it really? Impulse and urge to create, convention and break, human and animal: We pursue this question of identity in the relationship to others step by step. The journey will be exciting: the being meanders through the room, the audience – or is it the audience body? – looks and expects, but cannot anticipate the twists and turns, because what is there behaves idiosyncratically and unconventionally. It cannot be put into any category and shows again and again that our perception of what is happening creates expectations, the breaking of which equips new circus with old wisdom.
