The aspekteFESTIVAL, directed by Ludwig Nussbichler, is one of the most renowned festivals for contemporary music in Austria. It takes place every two years in spring. This year, the focus is on works under the motto “How does the world sound?”.
Fans of contemporary music regularly enjoy the Aspekte Salzburg Festival. Compositions by Austrian and international artists take centre stage.
One of the highlights will be the world premiere of the opera “Stabat Mater Furiosa” on 7 and 9 March, a composition commissioned from the Egyptian composer Hossam Mahmoud. The British soprano Juliet Fraser will come to Salzburg as Artist in Residence.
Since 2008, the aspekteSPIELRÄUME series has also been organised especially for children and young people. In contrast to the original festival, the young talent version is organised every year. The focus here is on motivating and promoting young artists. The “prima la musica” special prize was also created, in which 3 prize winners are chosen.
