The current exhibition by Vorarlberg-based artist Sabine Marte features a large-scale drawing installation accompanied by an algorithmic sound installation by Oliver Stotz. The drawings hang. From metal rods. One above the other. One beneath the other. Close together. In disarray. With holes, openings. Cuts. Allowing one to see through and connect the individual fragments. Ever-changing combinations and perspectives emerge as a result. Only the painted heads (selfies) on the long side wall are fixed. And enormous. Too large to face. Too close, grotesque and too obscured. Fragments of words pass by. It grunts. It breathes. It murmurs. Randomly. In dialogue. Passing each other by. Or all of a sudden, all at once. A world of holes, cuts, fragments, peppered with sound fragments. And the light? When the weather is fine, it shines reliably in from outside. Into the gallery. And makes the gently swaying body collages appear slowly but constantly different. Ceaselessly transforming.
