WATER TOWER ART FEST 2026 is celebrating its 20th edition this year and is once again transforming extraordinary urban spaces in Sofia into vibrant venues for contemporary art and cultural exchange. The international festival brings together artists from numerous countries and this year’s theme is “This is not an event, this is persistent”. With the support of the Cultural Forum Sofia, four Austrian artists are also taking part in the festival: Simon Pfeiffer, Lisa Hinterreithner, Chris Swoon and Christiane Peschek. The Austrian contributions add exciting highlights to the festival’s diverse programme. The main venues include the One Gallery, Figura Art Space, SAMSI, Toplocentrala and the historic water tower in the Lozenets district of Sofia.
