The Montafon Resonances, which are celebrating their tenth anniversary this year, bring together sound, landscape and artistic diversity in a unique way. At extraordinary venues – ranging from historic churches and alpine natural settings to traditional parlours – music is not merely performed, but can be experienced intensely through its interplay with space and history. The festival is characterised by a carefully curated programme of the highest standard. The focus is on artistic quality, stylistic openness and subtle nuances of sound, which create an immediate listening experience.
Six thematic areas shape the programme: wind music, chamber music, jazz, Alpine folk music, crossover projects and organ music. Curated by Markus Felbermayer, the programme is a multifaceted affair featuring both international and regional artists. The aim is to break down musical boundaries whilst maintaining a strong connection to the region. “The interplay between sound and space is crucial – every piece of music finds its perfect setting here,” emphasises Felbermayer.
