The exhibition presents his collection of blockchain-based art, which has been growing steadily since 2021, in a comprehensive display. ‘Collection Francisco Carolinum – 3 Blockchains, one Collection’ brings together works on the Ethereum, Tezos and Bitcoin blockchains and offers an insight into an artistic field that remains in a state of constant flux to this day. The focus is on groups of works by international artists, series and projects created in collaboration with the museum. The digital collection is complemented by selected physical works that relate to their digital counterparts and highlight different forms of artistic practice. The exhibition views the blockchain not merely as a technological infrastructure, but also as an artistic medium. It showcases works in which the blockchain forms the basis of the piece, as well as works in which it becomes part of the artistic concept itself – ranging from smart contracts and code-based art to works created entirely on-chain.
