The ‘Afriques’ festival invites you to enjoy art and culinary delights, film and music, workshops and entertainment. A diverse and exciting Africa is waiting to be discovered.
Christine Ruckendorfer has put together the colourful programme.
The festival, which is supported in the artistic field by the AG18 Gallery, runs throughout August.
The exhibiting artists include:
Louise Deininger (Uganda) + Thomas Vava (Uganda) + Daniela Frimpong-Mansoh Ghana) + Alphonse Ndagijiamana (Rwanda) + Khulekani Cele (Südafrika) + Boris Anje (Kamerun) + Noumimbimbou Nijele Leuna (Kamerun) + Meriem Yin (Marokko) + Baba Diedhiou (Senegal) + Moustapha Baïdi Oumarou (Kamerun) + Damilola Moses Opedun (Nigeria) + Taiye Erewele (Nigeria) + Famakan Magasa (Mali) + Wasiu Eshinlokun (Nigeria) + Selassie (Ghana) + Johnson Ocheja (Nigeria).
The supporting programme includes live performances by Rose May Alaba, Afrobae, Country Wizzy, Adama Dicko & Seno Blues, Zakaria Ouelman, Akashic, DJ Samad Najib & Max Doblhoff, Soulcat – Ladies DJ Collective, Rick Toldon & Barbara Miller, Aaron Hallu, among others.

Numerous films will be screened. There will be round-table discussions and workshops with ‘Wir sind auch Wien’, Kids of The Diaspora and a Sunday’s Gospel Brunch every Sunday. There will be fashion shows by Barbara Alli, Rama Diaw and a deluxe fashion show at BAL D’AFRIQUE. In addition, high-quality furnishings, furniture and accessories, clothing and jewellery.
