For the 20th time, the Film Festival in Prague, Brno, Olomouc and Ústí nad Labem is presenting a diverse programme of recent German-language film productions. It is organised by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Prague, the Goethe-Institut Czech Republic and the Swiss Embassy in the Czech Republic, with the Luxembourg Embassy in Prague also taking part. No fewer than two Oscar nominees with Austrian involvement can be seen on the big screen this year: the historical drama *Rose*, starring Sandra Hüller in the lead role, and the Cannes-award-winning drama *Everytime*, which explores loss and grief. The lead actress, Birgit Minichmayr, will be presenting the latter in person. To mark the 80th birthday of Elfriede Jelinek, the film adaptation of her novel “Liebhaberinnen” will also be screened, along with the docu-fiction “The Loneliest Man in Town” starring Al Cook and the tragicomedy “Altweibersommer”. Other guests include film editor Ulrike Kofler, who will introduce the opening film “Gentle Monster”, as well as Helmut Karner and Mwita Mataro, the directors of the documentary “Austroschwarz”. The festival is complemented by an “Industry” programme for those interested in film archives and special screenings for school groups.
